POETRY READING AND EXHIBITION
OF NEW WORKS BY RHONDA GREENE
OPENING THURSDAY NOVEMBER 7TH
5:30PM - 9:00PM
Grounded in Detroit’s voice, "1,2, No Sudden Moves" blends verse and visual arts. The exhibition presents Rhonda Greene's ten poems, written after the murders of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, reimagined as nursery rhymes. These are paired with ten powerful visual works created by Detroit artists to accompany and illustrate the poems. "1,2, No Sudden Moves" elevates Detroit artists' unique perspectives and their ability to use art for social commentary and to contribute to collective memory.
